Our History
In 2005, Dan and Mindy Withrow found themselves at a branch in the road with their careers and family. After having triplets in 2005, Dan was approached by his largest customer who asked him to start a woman-owned business along with the promise of a 5-year contract.
This led to a meeting with his best friend and his father to discuss funding the company. Deals were made and CSS Distribution Group officially launched on May 31, 2006, out of their basement.
In 2007, the need for warehouse space led to the signing of a 3-year lease for office space and a warehouse. Walt Blecha also joined the team as a minority owner that same year.
CSS Distribution Group earned their first Supplier of the Year award from Berry Plastics in 2007 and followed that up with two more consecutive Supplier of the Year awards in 2008 and 2009.
CSS Distribution Group’s breakout year was 2009 as sales rocketed to over $10 million and the company moved to much larger offices to accommodate the added staff and provide more warehouse space.
CSS Distribution Group was named #55 on the Inc 500 List in 2010 and #503 on the list in 2011.
Over the next decade, CSS Distribution Group continued to grow and double their sales.
In 2020, they purchased the assets of Xtreme Recycling in Tullapoosa, GA, which put CSS on the map with the Asset Recovery program.
In 2021, they moved that business up to Louisville and into a 50,000 sq ft warehouse to handle the influx of material from that purchase.
In 2024, they completed the acquisition of Pallet Solutions of Greer, SC. Thus, doubling their sales volume again and adding 180 new customers.
